Former EARTHTONE9 Drummer Joins NINEDENINE

April 1, 2002

Britain's NINEDENINE have recruited ex-EARTHTONE9 drummer Si Hutchby to their ranks. The band, whose music has been described as a “raw and mature, post-grunge, classic rock sound,” are completed by Leigh Oates (vocals),Andrew Stone (guitar),and Joel Graham (bass). Si replaces Jimmy Bottomley, who recently left the group on amicable terms.

Commenting on Si's arrival, Oates said: “We're looking forward to getting down to some serious work with Si. His drumming style's extremely powerful and will definitely add a new dimension to the band.” Si added, “It's my kinda thing, it's got a real edge to it, and I'm totally up for contributing as much as possible to NINEDENINE.”

Believed by some to be at the forefront of the next generation of new British metal bands, NINEDENINE are already attracting interest in the UK and in Europe with their four-track EP Scars. Having already supported the likes of VEX RED and ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY, the band is now in rehearsals with more live dates expected later in the year.
